- Years in Choral Scholars
- 2005 - 2009
- Chemical Engineering
- Voice Section
During my time at UCD as a Chemical Engineering student, I was very fortunate to be introduced to the UCD Choral Scholars.
I looked forward to rehearsals twice a week as I would be lost in the beautiful harmonies and cleverly composed barbershop melodies. The repertoire varied enormously and gave me the opportunity of being exposed to music of all eras and genres.
The standard at the UCD Choral Scholars is outstanding. Each singer brings their individual talent, quality of sound and capability to the group and the result of this blend of talent is extraordinary. I learned so much working within such a solid team of singers: awareness, musicality, preparation, reliability, adaptability…. skills that will always be of benefit to me.
The Scholars performed at numerous events including UCD foundation day dinner, various UCD balls and alongside professional orchestras and musicians. Rehearsing together for upcoming events brought about a great sense of achievement and general musical appreciation within the group. Having shared these unique experiences, great friendships were built and many great nights were had.
I am so very grateful for the opportunity to have been surrounded by such outstanding musicians and beautiful music. My experience with the Choral Scholars is something I will always remember.
