Artistic Director, Dr Desmond Earley, in collaboration with APU Chamber Singers (California), Dr Michelle Jenson (Conductor)
Dr Desmond Earley gives a clinic at APU and visits USC
The Artistic Director of UCD Choral Scholars, Dr Desmond Earley, is currently in California as a visiting scholar at Azusa Pacific University by invitation of Dr Michelle Jensen, conductor of APU Chamber Singers. This chamber choir are one of only seven ensembles in the USA chosen to present a programme at the NCCO conference in Portland, Oregon later this week. APUCS will present a programme of Irish choral music ranging from the works of Michael McGlynn to selections from 'Choirland', published by the Contemporary Music Centre of Ireland. The choir will also perform some arrangements of traditional music (Seolta Music). Desmond worked with them in clinic on Tuesday and will travel to Portland to the conference to speak about this topic to colleagues from universities across the USA. While in California he met with Dr Jo-Michael Schiebe at the Thornton School of Music at the USC, dropping in on the USC Chamber singers in rehearsal.
