UCD Choral Scholars were on location in Dublin's Henrietta Street on Saturday 21st November 2015 shooting two music videos to support the release of our forthcoming disc with Signum Records. A second animation crew worked upstairs in the building while the choir shot videos in the living room of the Georgian building. One of the tracks in question was 'The Gartan Mother's Lullaby', found in the 1904 collection of folksongs entitled Songs of Uladh collected by the Belfast-born poet, Seosamh Mac Cathmhaoil (1879-1944) and Belfast-born musician Herbert Hughes (1882-1937). Mac Cathmhaoil and Hughes’s is the source, often overlooked, of many universally-admired songs such as My Lagan Love. We are excited about the possible meshing of animated video and the half-light shoot undertaken by the choir in the main salon.
